A Mother’s Day Poem

A laugh

A smile

A sparkle in your eye that masks a distant sadness

The warmth of your hand as it squeezes mine

Incredible energy

Crossword puzzles galore

Two “G’s”

Humor, fortunately, handed down

A sense of adventure which surpasses my own

A warm conversation with a stranger no more

Endless pride

A silent good-bye

My mother

A lady

A good person

Well-loved

Perhaps not enough.
